Ii recently read an opinion article at the ABC news site. Here is a link to the article if anyone is interested
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2006/story?id=2635019&page=1. I am not taking issue with the article per se, but I have been hearing a lot of things about "liberal christians" lately. I am not sure what this term means. In the aforementioned article Jim Wallis talks about how Jesus would be more concerned with feeding the poor and health care than abortion or gay marriage. At least I think that is what ole Jim is saying. If I am wrong feel free to enlighten me. I agree the way we feed and care for our poor is abysmal. We can all do more individually and as a nation. I don't however believe that evangelicals are no longer concerned about abortion or gay marriage. If evangelicals aren't still concerned over those things then we are in trouble. I believe God still forbids homosexual relations and still forbids the taking of innocent life. No matter what other "moral issues" there are these two are still very much at issue. If liberal christians don't see this then maybe they are just religious liberals. Something to think about.
